Healing Body, Mind and Spirit
What is Reiki?
How does Reiki work?
Reiki is a process that allows the Life Force Energy to flow to self and others.
A Reiki Practitioner does not diagnose or cure disease, only facilitates the flow of Universal Life Force Energy.
The client becomes relaxed, allowing healing to occur more easily.
The practitioner does not direct energy - It will go where it is most needed.
Inner wisdom directs energy flow.
Recipients stay fully clothed and lie on a massage table or sit in a chair, in a quiet distraction - free room.
The Reiki Practitioner places their hands on or over the body in a series of positions.
Each hand position lasts about 3 to 5 minutes, with a typical treatment lasting 30 to 90 minutes.
Some say they can actually feel the energy flow (as heat/cold vibrations)
The Practitioner does not take credit for what happens in the treatment as it is Universal Life Energy not their personal energy.
Afterward, the recipient feels peaceful and relaxed, sometimes to the point of sleep.
Universal Life Force Energy (Reiki) passes through the Practitioner as the client draws in the energy they need. (the Practitioner also receives energy as it is passing through him/her).
Because the Practitioner has not used his/her energy, they need not take away any symptoms of the client, nor do they become fatigued.
